The "Princess Crew" is Baaaaaaack !!!!!
We haven't told JENN yet, but LORALEA, TRACEY and I are talking about doing the next Disney Princess Half-Marathon in March, 2012. W were there for the initial one in 2009, the LL and her dtr, Katelyn, were there for 2010. None of us went in 2011--so we're PAST DUE. It's less than a year away, so training has to start NOW! I completed White Rock this past December, so I KNOW I can do Disney this time. Google the race, pray about it, and think about joining us-in the training, if not in the actual race..but it would a whole lot more FUN to be THERE too!!
PS: Just looked it up again-sooner than I realized-Feb 26, 2012-ONLY 315 days away-goes way FASTER than you'd think!!

We Can Do Hard Things
For those who are on the fence:
I researched prices and it looks like for a room for 4 should be around $700 per person, this doesn't include airfare. Air usually costs around $200. This includes room and a four day park hopper pass. I think the race fee was around $100. We shared food most days- including 10 second rule chicken and a host of Mickey head ice cream bars! If this price seems daunting, just remember you have over 10 months to save. That's less than $100 a month.
You don't have to plan on going to Disney either. You can join the fun just to get in better health!
So with that being said, and the fact that we are only 315 days away, can we start on Sunday?!!?? Seriously, how about Sunday at 9am? We can start the first time at our old location at Trinity Park. For those that have never been, there is some parking next to Hoffbrau.
http://hoffbrausteaks.com/fort-worth/ This is a link to Hoffbrau. It has a map on this link too. When you are looking at Hoffbrau from University Dr. the trail head will be on your left- find a parking space and come on! We'll wait for you!
I am sad to say that my new running shoes are still in the box they came in. I am in need of losing this 30-40lbs that found me during this pregnancy and I know I will be wearing a bathing suit at the lake and then again on the cruise this November. I NEED to get my butt in gear! The ONE SINGLE thing that by far helped me get to my smallest weight was running/walking. I went from 280 to 148- and walking/running was my greatest success in getting it off. Sad to say that I am NOT 148 right now, but I KNOW how to get back there! My surgeon gave me the eating tool, Academy gave me the shoes- I have what I need to succeed.
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR ENDURANCE- I just had a baby 3mos ago and then major abdominal surgery 3 weeks ago so I am not going to go far or fast! Moving my body is the only thing on my objective! This will be more like a stroll. If nothing else walking and talking is good therapy for the soul even if it doesn't improve our cardiovascular health! The trail goes on for miles, so when you start to get tired just turn around and go back. The trail is marked in mile increments and most of us have running watches that calculate distance. So if you only want to go a certain distance we can help you.
If you are concerned that Fort Worth is too far please know that we alternate where we are running each week. But you have to show up and have a voice so that we know we need to pick a location closer to you! Some weeks it will be close to me, other weeks it will be close to you. Some weeks it won't be close to either of us! We pick different locations for different folks and for a change of scenery.
LET'S DO THIS!!!
